Branching Out

 I have to admit that this is one of my favorite quilts.  I remember going through all sorts of ideas before realizing that the round objects and branches and roots were exactly what this gentleman needed to be complete.

Pink Lady plus Three Other Faces

 This is a better picture of the Pink Lady - she has many sparkly beads and bangles surrounding her head.

People have many different thoughts when they look at the colorful shapes surrounding her head - what do you think they are?

These three faces are together.  All of them are made using the same technique but the expressions on their faces and the colors of the fabric make them look SO different.

Calico Rock Musuem Show - Ready to Go!

So the quilts have been delivered and are hung with great care in the art gallery at the Museum.
It is a lovely small venue so folks can get up close and personal to see the quilt details.

I am quite curious to see/hear what folks think of my art.

Calico Rock Museum Show

On April 5 thru April 9 a small group of my art quilts will be on display at the Calico Rock AR Museum.  I am just tickled that folks here in town will be able to see what I create.  This is a very traditional area and quilting here is always perceived as beautiful old hand pieced and hand quilted bed quilts.  So my quilts are very different.
I'll take some photos once the show is set up and post them.

New Adventures in Art

It has been a LONG time since I posted on this blog.... but we moved from out in the Ozark hills to town.  What a great and lovely adventure - but it took all of my time and more of my creative energy than I anticipated.  But - I AM BACK and have a lot of lovely plans this year for sharing art quilts.

So the quilts are arranged in the gallery and it looks beautiful (if I do say so myself!).  The team that worked to set up the show did a great job and I am so happy with the results.  More photos will be posted soon. 
It was a long trip to get here - but worth it.  Thank you UWW for letting my quilts hang out in this beautiful gallery.

Hurrah!  All the quilts are packed, all the bits and pieces are ready to go, and tomorrow morning I start driving North to Whitewater to set up the show.  I can hardly wait.  It has been such a long time filled with thinking and planning - and now it is here.
